If you’re in Ithaca over the holiday and in need of a place to go, listed below are all the places which will be open and serving Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday.

Aladdin’s Natural Eatery

Aladdin’s, located on 100 Dryden Rd, specializes in Mediterranean style cuisines. Owner Samuel Schuepbach said that while the restaurant itself is closed on Thanksgiving Day, the restaurant is welcoming the homeless for a traditional style Thanksgiving Dinner. Dinner will be available at the restaurant from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. 

Ithaca Country Club

While this is for members only, the Country Club will be open on Thanksgiving Day. A traditional Thanksgiving buffet will be available for members from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cornell University

Cornell University will be hosting the 28th annual Traditional American Thanksgiving Feast from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The event is open to ticket holders only, which will go on sale for the general public on Nov. 21, and can be bought for $14 here. This event will be held at the Robert Purcell Marketplace Eatery in the Robert Purcell Community Center, and seatings will be held at noon and 1:30 p.m. The menu includes various classic Thanksgiving foods including turkey, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, candied yams, clam chowder, and various baked goods.

Loaves & Fishes

Located in St. John’s Church at 210 N. Cayuga St, Loaves & Fishes will be open and serving dinner as usual at 5:30. They are available to be reached by phone at (607-272-5457).

Holiday Inn Elmira

Located at 760 E Water St. in Elmira, Anthony’s Restaurant – located in the Holiday Inn Elmira Riverview – will be hosting their annual Thanksgiving buffet beginning at noon and will be serving food until 4 p.m. Adult tickets cost $20.95, which offer the option to make a reservation to eat at the restaurant or place a take-out order. The menu includes roast beef, turkey, glazed ham, mashed potatoes, herbed stuffing, baked penne, and more. Tickets are available for reservation over the phone (607-734-0402).

The Salvation Army of Ithaca

The Salvation Army will be opening their gymnasium for a Thanksgiving dinner at noon. Turkey and all the fixings will be served for an hour. The gymnasium is located at 116 N. Albany St in Ithaca.

 Freeville Methodist Church

The Freeville Methodist Church will hold their annual Thanksgiving dinner at 1 p.m. All are welcome, but reservations are recommended at 607-898-4713 so the church is able to know how many people to expect.
