Here are the most current election results that we have:
Local races
Matthew Van Houten has won the Tompkins County District Attorney position with 21,624 votes. Edward Kopko lost with 7,124 votes.
In Dryden, the two Democratic incumbents, Dan Lamb and Kathy Servoss, held their town council seats against Republican challenger Deana Madigan. Lamb secured 31.8 percent of the vote; Servoss 34 percent and Madigan 24 percent.
In Enfield, a contested town council seat will go over to Democrat Beth McGee, who defeated opponent William Connors 58.1 percent to 41.9 percent.
In Lansing, the town clerk seat was won by Republican Debbie Munson, who defeated Tammy Morse, with 54.9 percent of the vote to 45.1 percent.
In Ulysses, both propositions put before the voters — one which turn the Town Clerk position from elected to appointed and the other which would do the same for Highway Superintendent — both failed.
State-level races (Sourced from NYT)
Ithaca Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton will continue her long incumbency, as she held onto her seat with 72.7 percent of the vote against challenger Herbert Masser who got 27.2 percent of the vote.
New York 58th district State Senator Tom O’Mara has been re-elected for New York State Senate with 51.5 percent of the vote over opponent Leslie Danks Burke. The 58th district includes Ithaca, Enfield, Newfield, Ulyssess as well as Elmira, Corning and points west toward Hornell.
Incumbent Republican James Seward also looks to hold on to his seat in the 51st State Senate District. He is beating Democratic challenger Jermaine Bagnall-Graham 68.6 percent to 31.4 percent with 51 percent of precincts reporting.
Republican Pamela Helming looks poised to claim the 54th district State Senate seat left vacant by Mike Nozzolio. She leads with almost 60 percent of the vote, her challengers Democrat Kenan Baldridge and Reform Party candidate Floyd Rayburn are holding 34.3 percent and 5.9 percent respectively, with 47 percent of precincts reporting. The 54th district includes Lansing, and stretches northwest, stopping just shy of Rochester.
National races
Congressman Tom Reed is expected to hold on to his 23rd District seat in the House of Representatives. He is leading challenger John Plumb with 51.1 percent to 45.9 percent, with 62 percent of precincts reporting.
Senator Chuck Schumer held off challenges from three other candidates, securing 71.5 percent off the vote to just 26.2 percent for his next closest challenger, Republican Wendy Long.
