The Cornell community is mourning the loss of a student in the Johnson School who died this week.

Jason Thomas was a member of the MBA class of 2018. He passed away Tuesday night at home, Cornell said.

Thomas was an officer of the Swim, Bike & Run Club and was also an active member of Johnson’s Association of Veterans.

To support Thomas’ wife and two children, the Association of Veterans started a GoFundMe page, which far exceeded its initial in under 24 hours.

A gathering of support for Cornell community members will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Sage Atrium. There will be a moment of silence for Thomas at 5:15 p.m.

In a statement, Ryan Lombardi, vice president for student and campus life, said “On behalf of the entire university community, I want to extend my deepest condolences to Jason’s family, colleagues, and friends. I ask all of you to keep Jason and his family in your thoughts as we mourn this loss in our Cornell family.”
