ITHACA, NY — On December 31, The Rook will celebrate their very first New Year’s Eve with a special three-course dinner from chef/owner Gentry Morris. The Rook will set aside their normal menu for the evening in favor of a celebratory meal that will allow Morris the opportunity to show off his culinary chops.

For the first course, guests will choose between a delectable grilled quail, or a fresh salad of winter greens with warmed goat cheese.

For the main course, options include a tender braised lamb shank with local root vegetables and crispy laser potatoes, roasted salmon with caviar and fingerling potatoes, or house-made mushroom tortelloni with shallot confit, royal trumpet mushrooms, and porcini powder.

The meal will conclude with the agonizing choice between boozy chocolate layer cake, or ginger-cardamom crème brûlée.  A three-course beverage pairing will also be available in addition to The Rook’s extensive offerings of beer, wine, and craft cocktails. The Rook’s usual late night menu will be offered from 10 p.m. to last call, and they will be extending their regular hours to stay open until 1am.

Seatings are available from 5 p.m. – 9:45 p.m. The three-course dinner is $60/person +tax and gratuity. The three course beverage pairing is $20. The Rook’s bar will also be open until 1am for walk-in diners and celebratory drinks. Reservations are available in person, by email at info@rookfoodanddrink.com, or by calling The Rook at (607) 319-0180.
