Update: DANBY, N.Y. — One person was injured and airlifted to a hospital after a one-vehicle crash on the 1400 block Danby Road Monday afternoon.

Witnesses said the vehicle drove off the road and struck a tree, police confirmed Tuesday. The cause of the crash has not been determined.

Lt. Dan Donahue, of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, said the driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and had  ā€œunspecified injuries.ā€ The occupant was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The driver was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania, for medical treatment.

DANBY, N.Y. — A helicopter had been called to the scene of a crash on the 1400 block of Danby Road Monday afternoon.

A Tompkins County 911 dispatcher said the single-vehicle crash was reported at 3:44 p.m.

It’s currently unclear how many people were in the vehicle, but Danby Fire and Rescue, West Danby Fire and Rescue, Bangs Ambulance, and a Guthrie Air helicopter are responding to the scene.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is also at the crash, along with the New York State Police.
