Downtown Ithaca announces Tuesday, Jan. 31 as its new date for its January installment of Day Out in Downtown, a day of activities for senior citizens.
Day Out will kick off at State of the Art Gallery, 120 W. State St., at 10:30 a.m. where many artists will speak and provide a preview of their February Gallery Night displays. Please note that this morning activity is different from what was previously advertised; however, the afternoon activities will remain the same.
After this informative activity, guests may then enjoy a lunch and social hour at noon at Due Amici Ristorante, 124 The Commons. The Mediterranean-infused meal is $10 and will include a salad, drink, and a choice of entree — falafel, chicken kebab or Gyro kebab — served over rice.
Then, attendees may make the short trek to Cinemapolis, 120 E. Green St., for a 1 p.m showing of the Golden Globe-winning film La La Land, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
Tickets to the box office hit are only $6, and participants will receive a complimentary bag of popcorn dressed with F. Olivers delicious artisan oils and special seasoning blends. F. Olivers staff will be at the theater to greet guests and offer them tastings of their fine products.
Day Out attendees may park at the Green Street, Seneca Street or Cayuga Street garages which are conveniently located within walking distance of each Day Out venue.
While Day Out guests are visiting downtown, we encourage them to check out the shops, boutiques, galleries, and businesses on and around The Commons, West State Street, the Dewitt Mall, and Press Bay Alley.
