ITHACA, N.Y. — Police are reporting that there has been an increase in vehicle break-ins in downtown Ithaca and on East Hill over the past 10 days.

Eight vehicle larcenies have been reported since March 13, which is a “noticeable increase” from usual reports, officer Jamie Williamson, of the Ithaca Police Department, said in a statement.

He said wallets with cash, personal effects and electronics have been stolen from vehicles.

No arrests have been made in regard to the crimes.
