LANSING, N.Y. — A Lansing man is facing charges after police say he hosted a party at a home and provided minors with alcohol.

Police responded to around 11:19 p.m. Sunday to 175 Buck Road after receiving a report that an underage drinking party was happening. When officers arrived, they said what appeared to be at least 50 teenagers scrambled in every direction.

A 16-year-old girl was so intoxicated that she could not walk, the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

Officers helped several Lansing Central School District teens find safe rides home and took the tenant at the home into custody.

John David H. McKane, 23, is facing an endangering the welfare of a child charge for providing alcohol to the 16-year-old minor. He has since posted bail and was released from jail.

“The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office reminds those who host underage drinking parties that they will be held responsible,” officials said in a news release.
