ITHACA, N.Y. — A second General Electric turbine shipment expected to pass through Ithaca on Tuesday has been delayed due to the predicted winter storm.

A massive steam turbine shipment traveling from the General Electric plant in Schenectady to the Scranton, Pennsylvania, area, will not move Tuesday since roads are expected to be difficult to pass during the storm. Plans are pending for Wednesday, according to the Ithaca Police Department.

The shipment is moving to Lansing on Monday and was originally supposed to come through Ithaca on Tuesday.

The turbine is expected to take the same route as before. The shipment will reach Lansing late Monday and stay at The Rink on East Shore Drive in Lansing. It will then travel on Route 13 through Ithaca.
