ITHACA, N.Y. — A wind advisory has been issued throughout Tompkins County Wednesday with gusts up to 45 mph until midnight.

The National Weather Service is stating that 10 to 20 mph winds are expected throughout the day.

ā€œGusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,ā€ the advisory states. ā€œPersons in the advisory area should secure all loose objects. If you are traveling through the advisory area keep a firm grip on the wheel, especially for those driving high profile vehicles.ā€

The New York State Electric & Gas website is indicating that no power outages are being reported in Tompkins County as of 2 p.m., but outages are being reported in surrounding counties.
