ITHACA, N.Y. — A wind advisory and hazardous weather outlook have been issued in Tompkins County, and strong winds are causing downed power lines and trees.
The advisory states that 15 to 30 mph winds are expected to last until about 1 p.m. Thursday, with gusts up to 50 mph.
The advisory states, “Winds of this magnitude could cause minor damage to trees, power lines and weaker structures.”
Throughout the evening police and firefighters responded to reports related to the weather, and NYSEG reported various power outages throughout the region.
