Music, dance, laughs, and the age-old tale of Boy Meets Girl – no musical puts it on stage better than ANYTHING GOES, and it’s coming to the Ithaca High School stage April 7-9! A hilarious shipboard romp, wrapped around one of Cole Porter’s most magical scores, ANYTHING GOES is Delightful, Delicious, and De-Lovely.

When the S.S. American heads out to sea from N.Y.C. to England, etiquette and convention get tossed out the portholes! Hit the high seas with a comically colorful assemblage of passengers: Reno Sweeney, a popular nightclub singer and former evangelist, her pal Billy Crocker, a lovelorn Wall Street broker who has come aboard to try to win the favor of his beloved Hope Harcourt, and a hapless gangster named Moonface Martin, aka “Public Enemy #13.” Song, dance, and farcical antics ensue as Reno and Moonface try to help Billy win the love of his life.

“If you have half as much fun watching this production as we have had rehearsing it, you’re in for a real treat,” says Robert Winans, Director, “The cast delivers a spirited and comedic performance that will leave you wanting more.”

Topping off the fun is Cole Porter’s first-class score that includes some of musical theatre’s greatest hits, including “I Get A Kick Out Of You,” “You’re The Top,” and of course, “Anything Goes!” There are many lively full cast dance numbers some of which showcase tap dancing. “There are also several duets that are sure to get the audience laughing thanks to the comedic timing of the actors,” says Choreographer Laura Preston, “I can’t wait for everyone to see this incredibly talented cast in action. They are a joy to work with and to watch onstage!”

This splendid madcap comedy stars Erin Hilgartner as Reno Sweeney, Christian Henry as Billy Crocker, Ana Louisa Brady-McCullough as Hope Harcourt, and Howard Krakow as Moonface Martin, who are supported by an amazing cast which includes Imri Leshed (Lord Evelyn Oakleigh), Ben Salomon (Elisha Whitney), Emma Ellis (Erma), and Rachel O’Brien (Evangeline Harcourt). Following on from the stunning past productions of “Mary Poppins” and “Catch Me If You Can”, this year’s shows will bring Broadway to Ithaca, as Directed by Robert Winans and the IHS Musical Team, including Kristin Zaryski (Musical Director), Laura Preston (Choreographer), Bill Makin (Orchestra Director), Liz Woods (Costumer), Stephen Brookhouse (Technical Director), & Brian Ugorowski (Set, Lighting, & Sound Design).
