ITHACA, N.Y. — Dan Klein has announced his re-election bid for a second term for Tompkins County Legislature as a Democrat representing the towns of Caroline, Danby, and a small section of the Town of Ithaca.

Dan was appointed chair of the Government Operations Committee after just one year on the legislature. After two years, he was elected Vice Chair of the Legislature by the bipartisan, unanimous vote of his colleagues.

Dan has also served on the Planning, Energy, and Environmental Quality Committee, the Health and Human Services Committee, the Charter Review Committee, the Facilities and Infrastructure Committee, and the Budget and Personnel Committee. He also serves on numerous other boards and committees, including Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit and the Strategic Tourism Planning Board.

Dan is seeking a second term to continue the work he does to strengthen youth services, environmental protection, housing issues, public transportation, local arts and culture organizations, and for the boring but necessary work of good government.

Prior to his election to the Tompkins County Legislature in 2013, Dan served 6 years on the Danby Town Board where he was Deputy Supervisor. Dan lives in the Town of Danby.

The election is November 7, 2017.
