Update (7:55 p.m. Tuesday) — Local authorities have located stolen firearms and arrested a fugitive from justice from Florida, but are still searching for another man believed to be in the Ithaca area.

At about 9 a.m. Tuesday, the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to a trespassing complaint at 950 Danby Road in Ithaca, at the South Hill Business Campus across the road from Ithaca College. The area is considered private property, and no one had authorization to be there, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies said two subjects, a man and a woman, entered the wooded area directly behind 950 Danby Road.

Police said they found two stolen firearms in the area the two subjects were reported to be trespassing.

Deputies and officers from the Ithaca Police Department were able to locate a woman wanted by authorities in Florida. Julie C. Holland, 27, of Port Charlotte, was located shortly after the trespass complaint in the City of Ithaca. The sheriff’s office said there was a warrant for Holland in Florida. She was arraigned in the Town of Lansing Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail and $40,000 bond.

Officers from several departments, including the IPD K-9 Unit, Cornell University Police Department, Ithaca College Office of Public Safety and sheriff’s office, were able to locate two firearms after searching the area of the original trespass complaint for several hours. A handgun and a long gun confirmed stolen from Florida were recovered, the sheriff’s office said.

The second suspect has not been located yet. The man has been identified as Jason R. Fisher, 42, of Port Charlotte, Florida. The sheriff’s office said he may be in the Ithaca area. Fisher is described as a white male, about 6-feet tall, 190 pounds, with blue eyes, balding with a tattoo of two wavy lines on the front of his neck and a large blue star on the right side of his neck.

Fisher was last believed to be wearing a black t-shirt and black pants.

In a statement, Ithaca College said Fisher might be armed.

Both Holland and Fisher have been charged with violation of probation or community control in Florida, according to arrest records.

Earlier — This is a news release from Ithaca College and NOT written by The Ithaca Voice. 

Local law enforcement agencies are searching for a wanted individual who was involved in a trespassing incident on property across Rt. 96B from the college. The suspect may be armed. He is described as a 42-year-old bald white male.

While he was not seen on campus and there is no known threat to the college community, you should remain on alert until further notice. Call 911 if you see the suspect.

Ithaca College Public Safety will be patrolling the campus and its perimeter, including the parking lot across Rt. 96B.

Update at 4:20 p.m. — Despite Ithaca College releasing a photo of the suspect, Spokesman Dave Maley said the college will not be releasing the name of the suspect because the incident did not happen on campus and Ithaca College police are not in charge of the incident.
