ITHACA, N.Y. — Two people were hospitalized Saturday after a gang assault in Ithaca, police said. Two minors are facing charges in the incident.

Police were called around 9:30 p.m. to the 400 block of Floral Avenue and the 600 block of Chestnut Street where they found two people who’d been physically assaulted. The victims were taken to Cayuga Medical Center for treatment.

Two minors have subsequently been charged with felonies for first-degree gang assault, first-degree unlawful imprisonment and second-degree strangulation. Police are declining to release their names.

Officials said in a news release that the investigation into the incident is ongoing and are asking people with information about the crimes to contact police.
