ITHACA, N.Y. — Two people were taken into custody at a home on 8 North Shore Drive early Tuesday morning, police officials said.

According to a news release, the search happened around 4:45 a.m. and was conducted by members of the Ithaca Police Department SWAT Team, Ithaca Police Department Investigations Division, and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.

At the home, police said they found ” a large quantity of an unknown substance packaged as if prepared for narcotic sales,” which officials said will be sent to the New York State Police Crime Lab for identification. Police also said they found “items indicative of narcotics sales such as packaging materials, scales, and cutting agents.”

Three people were at the home at the time of the search, and two of them were taken into custody for outstanding arrest warrants.

Taurean J. Matthews was turned over to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department on a bench warrant. Kristen E. Weber, 21, is in custody in the city of Ithaca for allegedly violating a probation warrant.

The third person is not in custody and has not been charged as of Tuesday morning.
