GROTON, N.Y. — A teen was ticketed after allegedly neglecting to make a full stop at a stop sign and crashing into a bus Friday in Groton, police said.

The crash happened around 3:10 p.m. near the intersection of West Groton and Bossard roads, police said in a news release.

Police said the Groton school bus, which has students on board, was traveling east on West Groton Road and had the right of way when a black Pontiac Sedan traveling north on Bossard Road pulled in front of the bus.

Two students were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries along with the driver of the sedan, 17-year-old Alexis L. Blakeslee. The rest of the students were taken back to the Groton school to be picked up by parents.

Blakeslee was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign.

The Groton Village Police Department, Groton Fire Department, and Groton Ambulance assisted the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department at the scene.

Police said the investigation is ongoing at this time.
