ITHACA, N.Y. — The 100 to 400 blocks of East Lincoln Street will be closed beginning Monday for work and re-paving until October.
East Lincoln Street from Cayuga Street to Lake Street will close Monday, July 31. Some of the work will include new pavement, improvements to sidewalks, rebuilding sidewalk ramps bringing curbing up to ADA standards and resetting utility structures.
The four blocks involved in the project will be closed to vehicular traffic at each street intersection. East-west traffic on Lincoln Street from Cayuga Street to Lake Street will be partially maintained for local traffic only except during specific operations.
Residents, motorists and customers of nearby business are advised to seek alternative parking.
Sidewalk and pedestrian access will be maintained during most of the project’s duration except while new sidewalk construction is taking place. There will be some pedestrian detours at times with signs.
Detours: Falls Street is recommended for east and west traffic. North and southbound traffic may continue to use Tioga Street and Aurora Street except during times when the intersections are under construction.
Questions, concerns or accessibility issues should be forwarded to the Engineering Department at (607) 274-6530 or Project Manager Eduardo Torres at (607) 274-6422.
