ITHACA, N.Y. — The Ithaca Police Department is investigating a reported purse theft Thursday afternoon.

At about 2:20 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a reported robbery on the 100 block of North Cayuga Street. The victim told police that they met the suspect to sell a purse. While the victim was showing the purse to the male suspect, he grabbed the purse and fled on foot.

The victim was unharmed.

The suspect is described as a black man, thin build, wearing black pants a black shirt.
