ITHACA, N.Y. — A family is still looking for answers after their 27-year-old daughter hasn’t been seen for weeks.

The last confirmed sighting of Nicole Marranca was on Aug. 18 at the Economy Inn, located at 658 Elmira Road in Ithaca.

Her step-mother, Kelley Marranca, said that’s where the rumors start.

She’s heard that a white male picked her daughter up from the motel in a black pick up truck and possibly took her to another county. There were at least two likely false sightings of Nicole Marranca in Ithaca. The family also consulted a psychic who told them their daughter was being watched by a man who wouldn’t let her out of his sight.

On Saturday, the family drove to Ithaca from Buffalo to search for leads and post fliers around the city.

Marranca said her daughter is dealing with addiction and does both heroin and crack, but it’s not like her to completely vanish from friends and family for so long.

“She has disappeared like all addicts will disappear for a while,” Marranca said. “Her inner circle of friends, I would say,  she usually keeps in contact with.”

For instance, Nicole Marranca has belongings at a friend’s house and hasn’t contacted that friend about getting a change of clothes or taking a shower.

“I know there’s a lot of people out there going…’she’s really not worth it. Just let her lay there and be dead if she’s dead,’” but Marranca asked people to consider what they would want if it was their own daughter missing.

“Shes got a father and step-mother in Buffalo that would love to bring her to Buffalo, get her in rehab, get her cleaned up,” Marranca said. “God forbid someone is holding her (against her will).”
