Cayuga Sound Festival
On a brisk weekend in upstate New York this fall, multi-platinum selling rock band X Ambassadors will return to their hometown of Ithaca, NY to host an outdoor concert and city wide weekend festival for the people that made them who they are. The band broke out in 2015 with their critically acclaimed album VHS, and global smash singles “Renegades”, “Unsteady”, and “Jungle”.
CAYUGA SOUND will come to Stewart Park on Saturday, September 23rd, along with a series of local events, talks, and activations on the days leading up to the weekend. X Ambassadors have curated an eclectic lineup including The Roots, Sammus, & K. Flay, representing the diverse music they listened to as youth, crossing all genre boundaries in taste.
Two stages will be set in the park, with a mix of national touring acts, friends of the band, and world class talent from the city of Ithaca. The festival plans to celebrate local businesses as well as support local nonprofits.

Specifically, she responds to this time of misogyny and renewed threats to the fundamental human rights of women. The suffragists achieved the vote for women after 70 years of determination, courage, and perseverance. In her drawings for this show, Heller pays homage to the efforts of NY State suffragists to mark the 2017 centennial of Women’s Right to Vote in New York State.

Smart People
Do our belief systems stem from our environment, or are some prejudices hard-wired into us? With barbed wit, Lydia R. Diamond (Stick Fly) explores the unavoidable nature of cultural bias and other sticky subjects in the controversial and fiercely funny new play Smart People. Four intellectuals — a doctor, an actress, a psychologist, and a neurobiologist studying the human brain’s response to race — search for love, acceptance, and identity in a complex world where political correctness comes face-to-face with cold hard data.

Tree Phenology Walk
Join the Cayuga Nature Center for our series of weekly citizen science walks to observe and collect data on seasonal changes in trees. Rain or shine, we will monitor when buds break, leaves emerge, flowers bloom, fruits ripen, and when leaves change color and fall.
The data we will collect will be sent to the USA National Phenology Network, which makes it available to researchers who are trying to understand the biological mechanisms behind seasonal changes and how they are influenced by a changing climate.
