ITHACA N.Y. — A Syracuse man was arrested shortly before midnight on Tuesday after Ithaca Police responded to a burglary and fight in progress on the 500 block of Lake Street.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers interviewed the victim, who said he had arrived home to find a man damaging items inside his home. The victim identified David Robinson, 35, as the perpetrator of the crime. According to police, the victim and the defendant knew each other.

While the victim was providing a description, Robinson returned to the scene but ran as soon as he saw the police officers. Officers chased Robinson for a short amount of time before securing him in police custody. He was then brought to police headquarters for further questioning.

Robinson has been charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal tampering and resisting arrest.

Robinson was arraigned in front of Judge Miller in Ithaca City Court where he was referred to the Tompkins County Jail with a $3,500 cash or $7,000 bond.
