TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. — This is an important election year for local government. All Tompkins County Legislature seats are open, and there are several seats open in city, town and other local elections.

Tompkins County Legislature
District 1
Leslyn McBean-Clairborne is seeking re-election to Tompkins County Legislature.
District 2
Incumbent Anna Kelles is seeking re-election and is running unopposed. Kelles is running on the Democratic and Working Families lines.
District 3
Three Democratic candidates are vying for the District 3, which has opened with Legislator Carol Chock’s retirement. The candidates are community organizer Carolina Osorio Gil, nonprofit leader David Shapiro and Henry Granison, who has a background in law. Update — Granison won the Democratic primary in September. Osorio Gil is still running on the Working Families line. Shapiro is no longer on the ballot.
District 4
Incumbent Rich John is seeking re-election to Legislature. The race was initially contested, but the other candidate Reed Steberger has withdrawn.
District 5
There are two challengers for the District 5 seat. Keith Hannon is running on the Independence and Cayuga United lines and Anne Koreman is running on the Democratic and Working Families lines.
District 6
There are two challengers for the District 6 seat of Tompkins County Legislature. Incumbent Mike Sigler is running on the Republican and Independence lines. Michael Koplinka-Loehr is running on the Democratic and Working Families lines.
District 7
Legislator Dan Klein is seeking re-election to Tompkins County Legislature and is running unopposed. Klein is running on the Democratic line.
District 10
Legislature candidate Deborah Dawson is running unopposed. She is running on the Democratic and Working Families lines.
District 11
Legislature candidate Shawna Black is running unopposed. She is running on the Democratic and Working Families lines.
District 12
There are two challengers for the District 12 seat — Amanda Champion and Jennifer Karius. Champion is running on the Democratic and Working Families lines. Karius running on the Freedom and Equity line.
District 13
Legislator Martha Robertson is running for re-election. She is running on the Democratic and Working Families lines and is running unopposed.
District 14
Incumbent Mike Lane is seeking re-election. He is being challenged by Republican candidate Nathan Busby. Busby has not returned requests for interviews.
