ITHACA, N.Y. — On Saturday, dozens of people gathered in Dewitt Park to honor those who have served in the United States military.
The 98th annual Tompkins County Veterans Day ceremony happened around 11 a.m. and featured remarks from Lieutenant Colonel David Barber, Army ROTC Professor of Military Science at Cornell University.
Proceeding the ceremony was the inaugural Veterans Day 5K run, organized by the Ithaca Police Department. The proceeds from the run benefited Team Red, White & Blue, an organization that offers ongoing support to former service members by connecting them to communities through physical and social activity.
