ITHACA, N.Y. — The inaugural 5K Veterans Day run is happening Saturday in Ithaca with funds going to support former service members by connecting them to communities through physical and social activity.
The 5K begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Dewitt Park and will conclude with an 11 a.m. Veterans Day ceremony at the same location. It’s being organized by the Ithaca Police Department.
Participation is free of charge, but attendees are encouraged to donate funds to the local Team Red, White & Blue.
Attendees are also encouraged to wear red, white, and blue and don U.S. flags.
The route will go through North Cayuga Street, East Shore Drive, Lake Street, East Falls Street, go back through North Cayuga Street, and finish at Dewitt Park.
