ITHACA, N.Y. — The Shop, a cozy cafe near the Ithaca Commons known for great local tea and coffee — and for the tattoo parlor in the back — is closing its doors for good at the end of the week.

The Shop opened on East Seneca Street in 2009 serving carefully crafted espresso drinks, tea, pour over coffee, juice and local bread and pastries. Local artwork was also always on display, while art was created in the back at Model Citizen Tattoo.

On Monday, The Shop announced it would close at the end of the week. To customers, they said “Thank you, truly for your support and love for The Shop Cafe.”

Hours this week will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, which will be their last day.

Model Citizen Tattoo will remain open for business by appointment with their artists, according to their Facebook.
