LANSING, N.Y. — After a robbery at the Cornell Federal Credit Union in Lansing, the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is reaching out to the public to help identify additional “person of interest.”
At about 4:32 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s office responded to a robbery at the Cornell Federal Credit Union at 99 Sheraton Drive in the Village of Lansing.
Witnesses told deputies the suspect entered the credit union and approached employees while displaying a handgun and demanding money. According to reports, the suspect then fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash. Police say the suspect was last seen running Northeast on Sheraton Drive.

On Friday, the sheriff’s office released images of a newly identified person of interest related to the investigation. The sheriff’s office said the man appears to be Caucasian with long, dark hair, a goatee and about 5-feet 10-inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black trench coat and sunglasses.
