ITHACA, N.Y. – Much like last year, the rain and gloom didn’t dampen the excitement at Cornell University’s annual Dragon Day celebration on Friday afternoon.

The tradition, which dates back 117 years, celebrates the rivalry between the university’s architecture students and engineering students. First-year architecture students together to construct an elaborate dragon, while engineering students craft a phoenix.

The final sculptures are then paraded across campus by hundreds of students dressed in outrageous costumes, marching and dancing the dragon to the center of the Arts Quad for the final gathering.

Here are some photo’s from this year’s parade.
