ITHACA, N.Y. — A pedestrian is being treated for minor injuries after being hit by a car in Ithaca on Wednesday evening.
Police say they responded to reports of a personal injury motor vehicle collision on West Buffalo Street at 6:21 p.m. . Upon arriving at the scene, officers say a car had struck a pedestrian crossing North Geneva Street on West Buffalo Street at the time of the crash.
The car hit the pedestrian in the crosswalk, police say.
Bangs Ambulance transported the pedestrian to Cayuga Medical Center for injuries sustained in the collision. IPD Public Information Officer Jamie Williamson said the injuries are not life-threatening.
The driver of the vehicle was found to be at fault for the crash and was issued a ticket for failing to yield the right of way.
The Ithaca Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
