ITHACA, N.Y. – A Ulysses man facing felony child pornography charges was sentenced in Tompkins County Court on Friday afternoon.

Chad M. Carr, 38, pleaded guilty to possessing a sexual performance by a child after his arrest in September 2017.

According to police, a woman who knew the defendant reported that he was hiding multiple forms of child pornography in his Ulysses residence. The woman reported that Carr had a burned DVD hidden underneath his video games containing “obscene” images of young children.

Upon arriving at his home, police say Carr voluntarily handed over a Samsung flip phone with 47 images of child pornography on the device. An additional 32 images were also reported on the DVD.

Carr, a registered sex offender at the time of his arrest, was previously convicted of having sexual contact with a teen in 2001.

Carr was sentenced to a 6-month incarceration period with a 10-year probation period, and will be registered as a level 3 sex offender. He was remanded to Tompkins County Jail following his sentencing.
