LANSING, N.Y. – A Lansing man is currently in custody after police say he assaulted a woman with a machete on Sunday night.
Daniel I. Truesdale, 47, is charged with felony first-degree assault after reportedly attacking a woman with the machete. Police say Truesdale caused “serious physical injuries” to the female victim’s face.
The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of the assault at a residence on Ridge Road in Lansing at 9:15 p.m. Police say Truesdale used the machete to cause severe lacerations to the victim’s nose, lips and jaw.
Truesdale is in custody at the Tompkins County Jail pending further action in the case. His bail is set for $5,000 dollar cash or $10,ooo dollar bail bond.
