ITHACA, N.Y. — After delivering food Thursday evening, police say a man was robbed on the 200 block of South Geneva Street in Ithaca. Police are asking the public for any information that might help the investigation.
Police responded to the reported robbery at 7:16 p.m. Thursday.
The person who was robbed told officers he was walking back to his vehicle after making a food delivery when a man approached him on the sidewalk and demanded all of his money. He turned over all of his money, “fearful for his safety,” police said, and the suspect fled the area on foot headed north on South Geneva Street.
Police did not disclose how much money was stolen.
The suspect is described as a black man, about 5-feet 5-inches tall, stocky build, short black hair with light facial scruff. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a white or gray t-shirt and blue jeans.
