ITHACA, N.Y. — The Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce is relaunching its month-long Movies in the Park series, beginning with the Disney-Pixar hit “Coco” next Friday.

Once the sun begins to go down Fridays in August, the movies will get going. Every Friday in August, the event will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. at Stewart Park in Ithaca. Along with the movie, there will be food truck and activities, along with wine, beer and snacks from Serendipity Bar & Catering. Admission is free and all the movies are family friendly.

In the past, the event has drawn more than 400 people each week, according to Steph Bailey, event and program manager for the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce. The series has been taking place since 2014.

The movies this summer will include:

  • Aug. 3: “Coco”
  • Aug. 10: “The Sandlot”
  • Aug. 17: “The Greatest Showman”
  • Aug. 24: “The Lion King”
  • Aug. 31: “Black Panther”

The movies are selected based on a survey of community members.

The series is supported by Chemung Canal Trust Company and others. For more information, visit the event Facebook page.
