ITHACA, N.Y. — Mr. James A. Terry, Jr. “La Gene” passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 in Ithaca, NY. He was 49, born in Sanford, Florida, and has resided in New York for the past 29 years.
He joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Martinez, GA at an early age. James, Jr. was previously employed with the New York public school system.
He leaves to cherish his memories: four children, Mercedes (Sebastian) Sawyer of Newfield, NY, Keisha Nelson of Syracuse, NY, Kenyatta Terry of Ithaca, NY and Natavia Terry of Kentucky; mother, Genease Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; father, James A., Sr. (Connie) Terry of Martinez, GA; three sisters, Shanell Terry, Donna Terry and Luciana Terry, all of Augusta, GA; and one brother, Antonia Luke of Augusta, GA.
Memorial services will be held at The Rescue Mission, 618 west State Street, Ithaca, N.Y. Thursday September 13th from 1-2 pm.
