ITHACA, N.Y. — Tompkins Trust Company on South Meadow Street was robbed Thursday evening. Police are searching for the suspect.
At about 6 p.m. Thursday, officers from the Ithaca Police Department responded to Tompkins Trust Company at 775 S. Meadow St. in Ithaca for a robbery that had just occurred.
A man reportedly entered the bank and displayed a handgun, demanded money and fled with an undisclosed amount of money, police said. A suspect has not yet been identified.
The same bank was robbed last year. Ithaca resident Chaio Slater was recently sentenced to seven years in prison for the robbery of Tompkins Trust Company and CFCU Community Credit Union.
