UPDATE (11:58 a.m. Thursday) — The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the bicyclist involved in the crash Wednesday has died.
LANSING, N.Y. — A bicyclist was killed in a collision Wednesday afternoon involving a tractor trailer. The bicyclist and truck collided while traveling south on North Triphammer Road in Lansing. The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
The collision occurred at about 4:10 p.m. Wednesday on the 3000 block of North Triphammer Road in Lansing. A commercial vehicle and bicyclist were traveling south on the road when they collided in the lane of traffic.
In an update Thursday morning, Lt. Daniel Donahue confirmed the bicyclist has died. The sheriff’s office has not released the names of the people involved.
Donahue said the investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
New York State Police, the Lansing Fire Department and Bangs Ambulance assisted at the scene.
