CLARIFICATION — An earlier version of this story said “Black Panther” would screen at 7 p.m., however the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce clarified the film will screen at 8 p.m.
ITHACA, N.Y. — Though the weather cut short two screenings in the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce’s Movies in the Park series, the community will get a second chance to see “Black Panther” and “The Greatest Showman.” The movies will be screened free at the State Theatre of Ithaca.
Over the summer, The Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce and Chemung Canal Trust Company featured the Movies in the Park outdoor film series. Many people brought chairs and blankets to Stewart Park to see family-friendly movies like “The Sandlot,” “The Lion King” and “Coco.” However, the weather was not on their side for a couple films, including “The Greatest Showman” and “Black Panther.”
“Black Panther” will be screened at 8 p.m. Oct. 12 at the State Theatre of Ithaca, 107 W. State St. The doors open at 7 p.m. and like the other outdoor movies will be free.
On Nov. 30, “The Greatest Showman” will be featured at the State Theatre. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
