ITHACA, N.Y. — As a retiree from Tompkins County’s largest single employer, Cornell University, I have had the benefit of a generous health plan and assistance with my children’s college expenses. However, those benefits are not available to the majority of NY’s 23rd Congressional district – and Representative Tom Reed is working to keep it that way.

Since the Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”) was passed into law, every healthcare provider has been required to provide essential health services, but Congressman Reed wants to shrink the list of essential services and drive up our individual expenses for wellness.

While he requests that colleges spend more of their endowments on low-income students, Tom Reed proposes no additional assistance to students and supports raising the ultimate cost of student loans.

When you go to the polls on November 6, vote for the candidate who will stand up for your and your family’s medical and educational accessibility, Tracy Mitrano, a champion for affordable healthcare and higher education.
