TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. – Several schools have already announced closings Friday morning after over seven inches of snow in Ithaca.

A winter storm warning is in effect until 8 a.m. Friday. The National Weather Service in Binghamton upped the total possible accumulation total to nine to 14 inches for Tompkins County. The storm is wrapping up Friday morning “but not before a final burst of snow as it leaves this morning,” the NWS said.

The latest snowfall total from a NWS spotter was seven inches for Ithaca at 1:43 a.m.

SCHOOLS

Dryden School District — Closed.

Ithaca City School District — Closed. All school-sponsored after-school and evening activities are also canceled.

Ithaca College — Closed. More information.

Groton School District — Closed.

Lansing School District — Closed.

Newfield School District — Closed. Parent-teacher conferences are also canceled.

Tompkins Cortland Community College — Closed.

Trumansburg School District — Closed.

TST BOCES — Closed, including all adult education classes. 11 and 12-month employees are to report.

Wells College — Closed.

BUSINESSES/OTHER

Catholic Charities — Closed.

Tompkins County Public Library is closed Friday.

The meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee of Tompkins County Legislature is delayed until 10 a.m.
