ENFIELD, N.Y. — The driver who was killed in the crash early Thursday morning was 33-year-old Kyle E. Shutts, of Trumansburg, the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash occurred at about 4:57 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1. Shutts was driving a 2018 Toyota west on Route 79 in Enfield when he left the road, struck and tree and then crashed into a house located on the 2500 block of Mecklenburg Road.

Shutts was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. The occupants of the residence were transported a local medical facility for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The sheriff’s office has not released information on what caused the crash.

The Enfield Fire Department, Bangs Ambulance, Tompkins County Medical Examiner’s Office, and New York State Department of Transportation also assisted at the scene.
