UPDATE (1:30 p.m.) – A spokesperson for NYSEG says power has been restored to all but 12 addresses in downtown Ithaca, as crews continue working to replace damaged switch equipment.
While a complete list of addresses that are still impacted is not available, NYSEG confirmed that businesses on the Commons and City Hall are still without service. City Hall is operating on a back-up generator, according to the spokesperson. Employees have confirmed that Trader K’s and nearby businesses are still without power on East State/MLK Street.
NYSEG says power may not be restored to all customers for several hours.

UPDATE (1 p.m.) – After initially reporting that power was restored to all Ithaca customers, as of 1 p.m. NYSEG shows about 350 customers are still without electricity. All affected addresses are downtown, on Aurora, Cayuga, Green and State/MLK Streets. Several businesses on the Commons are impacted.
NYSEG estimates power will be restored by 3:15 p.m. and has not provided information about the cause of the outage.
UPDATE (10 a.m.) – Power has been restored to all Ithaca customers, according to NYSEG.
ITHACA, N.Y. – NYSEG is reporting an electricity outage affecting about 1,700 customers in Ithaca Friday morning. As of 8 a.m., NYSEG expects to restore service to all customers by 10 a.m.
Most of the affected addresses are clustered in the South Hill and Southside neighborhoods. Affected streets include Albany, Aurora, Cayuga, Clinton, Giles, Pleasant and Prospect, among others.
Traffic lights are out at several intersections, including Albany and Clinton; Clinton and Cayuga; and Green and Cayuga.
