ITHACA, N.Y. — With four to eight inches of snow predicted for the area Wednesday, some schools have begun to cancel after-school activities. The Tompkins County Public Library will also close early at 5 p.m. due to the inclement weather.
According to the National Weather Service, a winter weather advisory is in effect until 3 a.m. Thursday. The light morning snow is expected to turn over to heavier snow with snowfall rates of more than one inch per hour around commute times. Drivers are advised to plan for slippery road conditions, especially Wednesday evening.
The City of Ithaca has put odd/even parking into effect until further notice.

Ithaca City School District: All ICSD-sponsored after-school and evening activities are canceled and there will be no late bus transportation.
Lansing Central School District: All after-school activities are canceled. People with after-school child care are asked to pick up as soon as possible.
Spencer-Van Etten Central School District: All after-school activities are canceled.
Tompkins Cortland Community College: Closing at 4 p.m. All locations will be closed and all classes are canceled.
Tompkins County Public Library: Closing at 5 p.m.
Trumansburg School District: No after school activities. All students dismissed at 2:45 p.m.
