ITHACA, N.Y. – Ithaca will be home to a HomeGoods within a month, the national retailer announced Thursday. The discount home decor store will open in Tops Plaza on March 24.
Plans to open an Ithaca store were set in motion last spring when the chain’s parent company, which also includes clothing retailers Marshall’s and TJ Maxx, said it would add about 100 HomeGoods nationwide. It has taken over the space at 614 S. Meadow St. formerly occupied by Michael’s. The suite has been vacant since Michael’s moved to the Shops at Ithaca Mall in 2016.

About 65 full- and part-time positions will be offered at the store, according to the press release. HomeGoods will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 24 for its grand opening day.
