ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca Fire Department reminds the community to exercise caution if you are going hiking or exploring the area. It is one of the most dangerous times of year to be near our gorges.
Trails are extremely slick and unstable and will remain closed until they can be serviced and officially opened.

Stay in safe, designated, open areas and hike with a partner. Always know where you are and carry a cell phone in case of an emergency.
