ITHACA, N.Y. — TCAT’s summer routes go into Sunday, May 26, with the exception of Route 30, weekdays only, and Route 70, weekdays only. Both will continue to follow spring schedules up until Monday, June 10, when College Avenue construction is set to begin. (Weekend-only Route 70 will start summer service on Saturday, June 15.)

Several routes this summer have been designed to accommodate major construction projects that, in addition to College Avenue, are scheduled along Aurora Street, as well as on North Campus. Summer service extends through Saturday, Aug. 24.

Passengers should refer to online or printed schedules for specific changes to make sure that they are at their bus stops on time. A limited number of printed schedules will be available in the coming days at TCAT bus shelters, including Green St. Station and Seneca St. Station. Those who wish to have printed schedules mailed to them can call (607) 277-RIDE (7433) or email TCAT at tcat@tcatmail.com, or stop by the front desk at TCAT, 737 Willow Ave., between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  For up-to-date information, Passengers are encouraged to check out TCAT’s Bus Tracker or download real-time apps.

Of note, the summer-only Route 22 service will extend to Saturdays effective Saturday, June 1. Saturday service only will also serve Buttermilk State Park in addition to Taughannock State Park. Weekday service goes into effect Monday, June 24. Residents and visitors are urged to use this convenient transportation to enjoy Tompkins County’s beautiful local parks.

All summer schedules:

Route 10:  No Collegetown service. Due to College Ave. construction, will use Stewart Ave. on all trips.

Route 11:  7:28 a.m. weekday trip from the Commons eliminated. Please note: morning riders needing to travel to South Hill and Ithaca College should instead use Route 65 outbound 7:25 a.m. trip starting from Green St. Station. Last outbound departure from Seneca @ Commons is at 8:08 p.m.; last inbound trip from College Circle Apartments at 8:30 p.m. Mon.-Fri. and 9 p.m. on Saturdays. On Sat. and Sun., scheduled service to South Hill Business Park will be from 3 p.m. through 5 p.m.; all other trips will be demand drop-off only (or by requesting bus operators to make stops.) No late night service.

Route 13Most trips are now scheduled to serve Stewart Park inbound and outbound for the summer season.

Route 14Minor timing changes.

Route 14S:  No weekday 3:23 p.m. (last inbound) and no first outbound trip at Linderman Creek/ Conifer Village, due to low demand.

Route 15:  Will no longer travel through the Ithaca Shopping Plaza parking lot; instead will turn right on Meadow St., from Elmira Rd. New stop is Meadow @ Ithaca Shopping Plaza.

Route 17 Schedule adjusted to meet beginning and end times of other routes.

Route 20: Minor timing changes.

Route 21Minor timing changes.

Route 22:  Weekday service starts Mon., June 24. Saturday service runs the entire season and will include trips to Buttermilk State Park in addition to Taughannock State Park.

EFFECTIVE MON.,JUNE 10, Route 30:  Due to College Ave. construction, outbound Collegetown stops relocated to Oak @ Collegetown Circle. Outbound route will travel from E. State St. to Mitchell St; Ithaca Rd.; Oak Ave; back onto N. College Ave.  Inbound Collegetown stops relocated to Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts (SCPA). Inbound route from N. College Ave. will travel to Dryden Rd,; Elmwood Ave.; Fairmount Ave.; Ithaca Rd.; Mitchell St., back onto  E. State St.  Late Friday-only inbound trips will be detoured using Campus Ave. and Stewart Ave. No Route 30 weekend service after Sat., May 25. (See Route 70 schedule.)

Route 31:  No changes.

Route 32:  Due to College Ave. construction, outbound will travel Mitchell St.; Ithaca Rd.; Dryden Rd.; Hoy Rd.; and Campus Rd.; back onto East Ave. Reverse for inbound. Will serve stops along detoured route on Ithaca Rd/ NYS Rt. 366. Some inbound trips adjusted 5 minutes earlier.

Route 36Minor timing changes on a.m. trips. New inbound 7:03 a.m. trip from Lake @ Ithaca High School to Boyce Thompson Institute.

Route 37:  Route will no longer serve Warren @ Village Circle stop. All trips will now turn from Warren Rd at Village Circle and serve newly established stops on the north and south sides of the Village Solars Apts., on Village Circle, between Warren Rd. and Village Place. Timing changes.

Route 40: No changes.

Route 41: No changes.

Route 43:  Minor timing changes.

Route 51:  Due to College Ave. construction, outbound route will travel on Mitchell St, Ithaca Rd, Dryden Rd, Hoy Rd, and Campus Rd, then onto East Ave. (back on regular route.) Reverse for inbound. Will serve stops along detoured route.  Route will serve Maple Ave and Maplewood Park Apartments on select trips on Saturday and Sunday.

Route 52:  Minor timing changes.

Route 53: Minor timing changes.

Route 65:  Due to construction work along Aurora St., Route 65 will follow the same alignment as Route 11: from Aurora St.; to Hudson St.; through Ithaca College Campus to Alumni Circle; and back on route to NYS 96B (Danby Road.)

Route 67: Minor timing changes.

EFFECTIVE SAT.,JUNE 15, Route 70: Due to College Ave. construction, outbound  Collegetown stops will be Mitchell @ College; Ithaca Rd. @ Elmwood; and Oak @ Collegetown Circle. Outbound route will travel on Mitchell St., Ithaca Rd., and Oak Ave.; back onto N. College Ave.  Inbound Collegetown stops relocated to Schwartz CPA; Ithaca Rd. @ Fairmount; and Mitchell @ College. Inbound route from N. College Ave. will travel Dryden Rd.; Elmwood Ave.; Fairmount Ave.; Ithaca Rd.; and Mitchell St. After 8:30 p.m. Saturdays, inbound Collegetown stops relocated to Schwartz CPA for Performing Arts, and then travel downtown via Campus Ave. and Stewart Ave.

Route 72: No West Ave. service. (Use weekend Route 70.) Due to College Ave. construction, outbound route will travel on Mitchell St.; Ithaca Rd.; Dryden Rd.; Hoy Rd.; Campus Rd.; East Ave.; Thurston Rd.; Wait Ave.; Triphammer Rd. to Jessup Rd. (back onto normal route.)  Reverse for inbound. Will serve stops along detoured route on Ithaca Rd/ NYS Rt. 366. Please note: inbound trips adjusted 5 minutes earlier.

Route 74:  Minor timing changes.

Route 75:  Minor timing changes.

Route 77:  Will no longer serve Warren @ Village Circle. All trips will now turn off from Warren Rd. at Village Circle and stop at newly established stops on the north and south sides of the Village Solars Apts. on Village Circle, between Warren Rd. and Village Place. Timing changes.

Route 81:  Due to the North Campus Expansion Project, the a.m. route will turn right at bottom of A Lot, exit onto Pleasant Grove, and then turn south on Jessup Rd. in AM. Please note: there will be fewer a.m. trips, but Route 82 will also be serving A Lot at this time.

Route 82:  Due to the North Campus Expansion Project, route will turn right at bottom of A Lot, exit on Pleasant Grove, then continue to Hasbrouck Apartments. Route to operate every 15 minutes instead of every 10 minutes throughout the day, due to lower demand in the summer.

Route 83: No summer service.

Route 90:  Significant timing changes. No Sunday service.

  • Due to College Ave. construction, outbound Collegetown stop will be Oak Ave. @ Collegetown Circle. Route will travel on Mitchell St.; Ithaca Rd.; to Oak Ave.; to N. College Ave., back onto East Ave. Inbound Collegetown stops will be Schwartz CPA and then will continue downtown via Campus Ave. and Stewart Ave.
  • Due to North Campus Extension Project, outbound route will travel Jessup Rd. and Pleasant Grove Rd. to serve Hasbrouck Apts. Inbound, after serving Hasbrouck, will travel Cradit Farm Dr.; Thurston Ave.; and back onto East Ave.

Route 92Will only travel between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. Monday through Saturday. No Sunday service in summer. 

Route 93: No summer service.
