BROOKTONDALE, N.Y. — A 30-year-old Brooktondale resident was killed Sunday in a crash on Route 96B in Candor, according to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office.
Timothy J. Tagliavento was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle south on 96B when he and a 2018 Ford Fusion collided at the intersection of Gridleyville Crossing in the Town of Candor. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Tagliavento was transported to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries. The driver and passenger of the Ford Fusion were transported to the hospital and treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, the Tioga Sheriff’s Office said.
An Ithaca High School graduate, Tagliavento leaves behind a large circle of family and friends, including his wife and two young sons. He is remembered by family as passionate about his work as a truck driver with Bellisario Excavation & Drainage and enthusiastic about racing dirt bikes, hunting, fishing and camping.
A GoFundMe has been organized to support Tagliavento’s family. “Tim valued his friends and family above all else. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He was a caring son and brother. He was a friend to all,” the fundraiser announcement reads.
Emergency responders including the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, New York State Environmental Conservation Police, Greater Valley EMS, Spencer EMS, Candor EMS and Candor Fire assisted on scene.
