Stephanie A. (Messenger) Gaynor, 58, of Groton, passed away peacefully at Cayuga Medical Center on December 19, 2019. Stephanie was born Oct. 20, 1961, in Ithaca, NY, a daughter of Richard L. Messenger and the late Mary (Woodin) Messenger.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her daughters, Mary (Kyle) Wortz of Salt Lake City, UT, and Christina Gaynor of Groton, NY, and her beloved granddaughter, Arianna Gaynor; her former husband Chris Gaynor of Covert, NY; her siblings Richard (Rachel) Messenger of Fairfax, VA, Jeffrey Messenger, FL, Jennifer (Glenn) Beardsley, Trumansburg, NY, and Shawn (Charlie) Johnson, Blue Ridge, TX, special cousin, Jackie (Mark) Armstrong of Lansing, NY, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her sister, S. Kathleen Jordan.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, at the First Assembly of God Church, 197 Bostwick Rd, Ithaca. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service. Pastor John Sotero will officiate.
