ITHACA, N.Y. — Tuesday’s numbers from the Tompkins County Health Department show another three confirmed cases of coronavirus in Tompkins, while one remains hospitalized.

TCHD only received results for 8 cases on Tuesday, with five negative tests accompanying today’s 3 additional positives.

The new data was met with initial confusion, as the county announced an error in reporting from March 30 of the total number of samples taken. TCHD confirmed that 169 samples were taken on March 30. The Voice has updated our tables.

Representatives from TCHD also clarified that the “Discharged” category is related to the number of patients released that day, rather than a cumulative tally of how many people have been discharged.

The county also added a “Recovered” column, representative of those who have tested positive, recovered and have been released from isolation.
