ITHACA, N.Y. —Ithaca Police Department says they are continuing to investigate multiple reports of gunfire on W. Spencer Street on Thursday night.
At approximately 9:13 p.m., Ithaca Police officers responded to several reports of persons hearing a sound that was believed to be a single gunshot in the area of the 200 block of W. Spencer St.
This is at least the fourth report of shots fired in this area since late 2019.
Ithaca Police officers arrived and found a vehicle in the area that they attempted to leave the scene. A traffic stop was conducted with this vehicle and the occupants’ actions were deemed to be suspicious in nature, according to the release.
The Ithaca Police Department is attempting to identify any witnesses and say that they have not found any victims.
The incident is still under investigation and IPD says that no names of involved parties will be released at this time.
