ITHACA, N.Y. ––  Schuyler County Sheriff Deputies led a chase through multiple counties, that resulted in several accidents before arresting the driver in Trumansburg.

On Saturday, May 17, at approximately 10 a.m., Schuyler County Sheriff Deputies attempted to stop a white 2012 Ford Focus on State Route 224 in the Town of Montour for traffic violations. The vehicle failed to stop and was chased by law enforcement through Schuyler, Chemung, Tompkins, and Seneca counties — including driving the wrong way down a one way on NY-13 in the City of Ithaca, according to several community members who were present.

During the incident, the vehicle struck a Schuyler County Sheriff’s Vehicle as well as a New York State Police vehicle, according to a press release from the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department

The chase ended with a roll-over crash in the Village of Trumansburg.

Deputies took the driver, Aaron Mason Jr., 27, of Rochester, into custody. Mason was issued several uniform traffic tickets as well as appearance tickets to appear in various courts within Schuyler County at a later date.
